When I was young, I often spent Sundays watching Serie A soccer with my dad. I remember one time I asked him, “Papa, why do these players celebrate so much when they score? They look like they just won the lottery or something.” My dad’s response was very simple: “It’s because they have passion for the game.” Passion is what drives this sport, and every four years, it is passion that brings the world together. ESPN asked Brazilian graphic designer and artist Cristiano Siqueira to capture the spirit of each national team participating in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Check them out, they’re pretty awesome.
